ROLAND A. " RON" RANTS- FOUNDER & CHAIRMAN
Ron founded The Rants Group in 1973. His knowledge of the Thurston County Real Estate market comes from his many years of living and working in this community.  Ron holds a Finance degree from the University of Washington (avid Husky Fan). Ron currently is involved in many community organizations including The Boys & Girls Club of Thurston County, which he is a founding board member, The Roundtable of Thurston County, which he co-founded (the Roundtable is a group of community leaders committed to improving the cultural and economic future of the capitol area). He also travels with the Medical Teams International and Mexican Medical Missions which provide medical and habitat assistance to third world countries.  Ron has three children and six grandchildren.

Pat joined The Rants Group in 1988. He is currently the President and runs the day to day operations. He develops, sells, leases and manages office, retail and industrial properties.  He received his Business Administration/Finance degree from Central Washington University.  Pat served as past President of The Rotary Club of Olympia and Community Youth Services.  He is also on the Board of St. Martins University and the Economic Development Council.  Pat has three children.

Shelley has been with The Rants Group since 1974.  She is an associate broker working in sales, leasing and property management.  Her recent sales experience includes 127 acre vacant land parcel for residential development south of Tumwater.  Shelley attended the University of Washington.  Shelley is the past President of West Olympia Rotary Club and serves on the South Puget Sound Community College Foundation Board and is a founding member of a local investment group.  Shelley is married and has two daughters.

Carolyn has been with The Rants Group since 1989 and has been a licensed commercial real estate agent since 1996. Carolyn understands the intricacies of commercial real estate because of her broad experience in sales, leasing and property management. Carolyn graduated with a Business Administration/Marketing degree from Central Washington University.  She is currently a board member of YWCA of Olympia and she is the past president of Olympia Host Lions Club and the Morningside Board of Trustees.  Carolyn is married to Tim Graden

NICOLE POTEBNYA - COMMERCIAL LEASING, SALES, AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGING BROKER

Nicole was originally a Rants Group member from 1996 through 2002 during which time she was responsible for the residential division and engaged in multi-family sales.  After receiving her J.D. cum laude in 2005, Nicole was appointed as an Assistant Attorney General with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office where her practice was heavily litigation-based and included substantial components of client advice and strategic planning.  Nicole brought her experience back to The Rants Group in 2007.  She is both In-House Corporate Counsel to and an Associate Real Estate Broker with The Rants Group.  In addition to her involvement with commercial development projects, Nicole is engaged in all aspects of sales, leasing, and management of office, retail, and industrial properties.  Nicole is married to Neil Meyer, a local architect, and they have one son.

Lisa was a former Rants Group member from 2001 to 2007 during which time she managed both residential and commercial properties and was also involved in commercial sales and leasing. Lisa rejoined The Rants Group in 2009, bringing with her over 15 years of experience in the real estate industry. With The Rants Group she will be responsible for the professional management of all aspects of commercial properties and leasing and sales as well. Lisa is married to William Barker and has two children.

TERI HAGLUND - RESIDENTIAL LEASING AND SALES BROKER , PROPERTY MANAGER
Since bringing her previous real estate experience to The Rants Group in 2004, Teri has gone on to complete her education and training with IREM and has received her designation as an ARM, Accredited Residential Manager. Teri's commitment to customer service allows her to oversee more than 150 of The Rants Group residential, single-family and multi-family homes. Some of her responsibilities include: acquisition of new properties in need of professional management, showing properties to prospective tenants, tenant screening, overseeing all financial aspects of her assigned properties as well as the sales of multi-family units. Teri  also contributed her time and effort to Junior Achievement, AWANA and to Toastmasters International. Teri has two children.

  DARRELL MCQUISTON - RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL LEASING AND SALES BROKER
Darrell has been involved with residential sales and management of homes and vacant land for more than 18 years. He also managed apartment complexes and single family homes in the Seattle Metro Area. Since joining The Rants Group in 2009, Darrell's management portfolio includes over 200 residential single family dwellings and multifamily properties located throughout Thurston County. He also manages and leases several commercial buildings. Darrell and his wife Karen have 2 children.

  CONOR MCDONALD - PROPERTY MANAGER
Conor joined the Rants Group in December of 2012 as a Commercial Property Manager. Before starting in Real Estate, Conor worked for 2 years in Corporate Accounting for a Fortune 500 company based in Seattle. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Gonzaga University, where he graduated from in 2010. Born and raised in Olympia, Conor understands the local market and has a strong affiliation with the community. VICKY LEEVER - ACCOUNTANT & OFFICE MANAGER
Vicky joined The Rants Group in 2001 as an accounting assistant and soon thereafter accepted the job of senior accountant.  Vicky is responsible for all aspects of commercial/residential property management accounting.  She also handles The Rants Group corporate and development accounting and financial reporting.  In addition, Vicky handles all human resource and medical/dental benefit information and oversees the work of the support staff.  Vicky is married to Jeff Leever and has two children.

  PIERINA OLIVARI - ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT
Pierina joined The Rants Group in 2002.  She is responsible for receipting rent payments, preparing deposits and all data entry for accounts payable and accounts receivable.  She is responsible for the day to day bookkeeping for all of our property management accounts which includes both commercial and residential.  Pierina graduated from South Puget Sound Community College (2003) with her Associate of Technical Arts degree in the Paralegal field.  She is married to Luis Cobena and has four children and three grandchildren.

Andrea is your first point of contact at The Rants Group and supports our Residential division.  Born and raised in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, she became a resident of Washington State in 2008. Andrea joined The Rants Group in the summer of 2010 and is married to Chris Tawes.

  DOUG STRAND- MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
Doug is head of our maintenance staff. He came to The Rants Group in 1997. His past maintenance experience included work at Panorama City Retirement Community and Tanglewilde Limited Partnership. He is also a First Sergeant retiree (1988) of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam in 1968-69. Doug provides maintenance service to both residential and commercial properties managed by The Rants Group. His diverse knowledge and experience provides a quick response for our tenants and a cost effective solution for our property owners. Doug is married to Carol Strand, has 5 children and 2 grandchildren.
